The Commission on Higher Education – Caraga Regional Office (CHED Caraga), in celebration of Women’s Month 2022, organized the first ever search for Binibini (Bb.) at Ginang (Gng.) Juana ng CHED Caraga pageant, held on the afternoon of March 31, 2022 during the Women’s Month culmination program.

Four (4) candidates for the Bb. category and four (4) candidates for the Gng. category vied for their respective crowns, representing the four (4) teams of which all CHED Caraga personnel were divided into. The Bb. candidates were Ms. Christy Joy Lajos (Bb. Candidate No. 1), Ms. Cynthia Grace Magalop (Bb. Candidate No. 2), Ms. Rose Antoinet Jamero (Bb. Candidate No. 3), and Ms. Kershey Reign Dueñas (Bb. Candidate No. 4). For the Gng. category, the candidates were Ms. Jo Sheila Plaza (Gng. Candidate No. 1), Ms. Daisy Grana (Gng. Candidate No. 2), Ms. May Trinity Dela Torre (Gng. Candidate No. 3), and Ms. Revelyn Brina (Gng. Candidate No. 4).

The pageant began with a production number in which the candidates strutted their stuff in Women’s Month purple shirts, jeans, and heels, and introduced themselves to the audience. This was followed by a sports attire segment where the candidates walked the stage donning the uniforms and paraphenalia of the sports of their choosing. Finally, the candidates wowed the crowd with elegant dresses for the casual attire segment. This was followed by a question and answer portion where candidates were given the opportunity to express their thoughts on statements regarding modern womanhood.

In the Minor Awards category, the following awards were up for grabs by the in candidates: Best in Production, Best in Sportswear, Best in Casual Wear, and Darling of the Crowd. Below are the winners of each award:

The titles of Bb. at Gng. Juana ng CHED Caraga were based solely on the results of the Question and Answer portion. Taking home the crown as Bb. Juana ng CHED Caraga was Bb. Candidate No. 4, Ms. Kershey Reign Dueñas, while Gng. Candidate No. 3 Ms. May Trinity Dela Torre was crowned Gng. Juana ng CHED Caraga.

The search for the first Bb. at Gng. Juana ng CHED Caraga was able to achieve the following objectives: developing sportsmanship, talent, camaraderie, and enhance effective coordination between the personnel; to empower women by participating in regional activities that will raise awareness on issues that matter to them; to celebrate Filipino women in the region in support of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW); and to coincide with the worldwide observance of the International Women’s Celebration.
