The Commission on Higher Education – Caraga Regional Office (CHED Caraga) conducted a virtual Regional Assembly with all CHED Caraga personnel, Higher Education Institution (HEI) Registrars, and IT personnel of the Registrar’s Offices on June 15, 2021 via ZOOM Cloud Meetings. The assembly ran from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the morning session consisting of a webinar on the Rules of Data Entries of Birth and Marriage Certificates and an orientation on the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), and the afternoon session consisting of a presentation of updates, issues, and concerns. An election of officers was also held for the Caraga Region Association of Registrars (CARRASSOR).

The afternoon session began with Ms. Revelyn Brina, Administrative Officer III, providing updates on the submission of Enrollment Lists, Promotional Reports, and List of Graduates for the Academic Year 2020-2021. She also discussed the existing issues and concerns on online applications for the Certification, Authentication and Verification (CAV) requests, and issuance of Special Orders (S.O.). She ended her presentation by providing instructions that clients can follow to avoid issues in the future.

Following the discussion of Ms. Brina was a presentation by Mr. Amy Saavedra, Officer in Charge – Supervising Education Program Specialist, on the status of the Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS) Data Retrieval. He reported that 100% of HEIs have submitted data for the HEMIS Data Retrieval as of October 21, 2020. He highlighted that the data provided by HEIs aided in the completion of various reports, such as the CHED Caraga Statistical Bulletins and Annual Reports, among others. He continued his presentation with a demonstration of the proper ways of filling out forms that registrars can use as a guide.

In between presentations, HEIs with notable completions and documentations were recognized. Surigao Education Center (SEC) and Siargao Island Institute of Technology (SIIT) were HEIs that were regarded for their perfect submission of Enrollment Lists, Promotional Reports, and List of Graduates for the Academic Year 2020-2021. For well-documented CAV applications, Southway College of Technology (SOCOTECH), and Elisa R. Ochoa Memorial Northern Mindanao School of Midwifery (EROMNMSM) were the top HEIs recognized. For well-documented S.O. applications, the top HEIs recognized were SEC, SOCOTECH and Saint Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT).

An open forum followed for any questions and concerns the registrars and IT personnel had regarding the presentations given that afternoon.

Following the open forum was the election of officers for CARRASSOR. The vacant positions to be filled were that of the President, Vice President, and Public Information Officer (PIO) for Butuan City/Agusan Del Norte/Agusan Del Sur.
