The Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) Caraga Region successfully conducted a Reorientation and Workshop on the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Program Implementation cum Team Building Activity at the Almont Inland Hotel & Convention Center, Butuan City on December 2, 2024.
The full-day event aimed to enhance the knowledge and coordination between the UniFAST Caraga regional coordinators and the Higher Education Institution (HEI) presidents and key officials, and HEI TES focal persons, ensuring more effective implementation and fostering stronger team dynamics. The program kicked off with registration and preliminary activities, followed by the acknowledgement of participants and a welcome message. Dr. Julia Felisa C. Martinez, LPT, Chief Education Program Specialist, provided an overview of the importance of access to quality and transformative education.
Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, DPA, UniFAST Executive Director graced the event as the keynote speaker, shedding light on the salient provisions of the revised policies related to the TES program and other programs under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) Act. His insights were instrumental in addressing key challenges and opportunities in the implementation of the program. Participants engaged actively during the open forum with the UniFAST Executive Director, which addressed their queries and suggestions.
During the afternoon session a workshop was conducted on the accomplishment of UniFAST forms, led by Ms. Florence M. Lapinig, UniFAST Caraga Accountant. The session ensured that all participants were well-versed in the proper documentation and procedural aspects of the TES program.
To further strengthen the bond among the participants, a series of team-building activities were conducted, emphasizing collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. As it was nearing the holidays, a gift exchange was also conducted among participants in the spirit of holiday cheer. The event concluded with closing remarks and a photo opportunity, leaving the participants motivated and equipped for the tasks ahead.
The success of this event underscores UniFAST Caraga’s commitment to improving the efficiency and reach of the TES program, ensuring that financial assistance reaches deserving students in a timely and effective manner.
