In the efforts of strengthening collaboration and harmonizing initiatives for the agriculture and related sciences programs offered by various higher education institutions (HEIs) across the region, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office successfully initiated the creation of the Caraga Council for Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, and Environmental Sciences (CAFFES) during the meeting of Deans, and Program Heads/Coordinators/Chairpersons held on October 30, 2025 via zoom.
The Council will be led by Dr. Sarah M. Ravelo, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), who was elected as President, along with the new set of officers.
The creation of the council and election of officers was facilitated by Mr. Ever Joy G. Rabadan, MAEM, MSc, Education Supervisor/Program Supervisor in charge of Agriculture and Related Sciences, who further encouraged active participation among HEIs to strengthen collaboration and development across the region.
The Council will play a crucial role in taking appropriate actions and identifying future directions for the agriculture and related sciences programs in Caraga.
