The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office, successfully conducted the orientation for new and on-going scholars during the activity dubbed as, “CHED Caraga FUELS: Funding Undergraduate Excellence for Learning and Success,” held on October 29, 2025 via zoom. 

The activity was attended by a total of 36 new scholars under the Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho), and 30 on-going scholars of the Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Grants-in-Aid for Higher Education Program (ACEF-GIAHEP).

Discussion focused on the programs’ terms and conditions, policy updates, and other compliance requirements while under the scholarship grant. Updates on the Coconut Farmers Industry Development Program (CFIDP) were also presented by the Philippine Coconut Authority represented by Ms. Mitch Betito, Community Organizer of CFIDP – Agusan del Norte. Moreover, the Department of Agriculture (DA), represented by Ms. Evangeline Batoctoy, Project Evaluation Officer I, presented the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2 series of 2024, otherwise known as, “Enhanced Implementing Guidelines for ACEF-GIAHEP.”

Dr. Julia Felisa C. Martinez, Chief Education Program Specialist of CHEDRO Caraga, emphasized the Commission’s commitment to supporting access to quality higher education and promoting academic excellence among students in the region.
