The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga, led by Regional Director Dr. Nelia A. Alibin, along with Education Supervisors II Dr. Frederick A. Amihan, Dr. Rolyna S. Trugillo, and Mr. Amy C. Saavedra, attended a consultative meeting at NEMSU – Tandag Campus on March 5, 2025, regarding the universityโ€™s application to offer the Doctor of Medicine program.

Present at the meeting were NEMSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Lady Sol A. Suazo, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Abundio C. Miralles, Vice President for Research and Extension, Prof. Rolly G. Salvaleon, Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Ma. Cecilia C. Cruz, as well as faculty members and staff.

Dr. Amihan, the Education Supervisor II overseeing the program, discussed the remaining requirements and the timeline for completing the application.

On the same day, CHED Caraga also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between NEMSU and Adela Serra Ty Memorial Hospital, represented by its Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Janice V. Pagaran-Alcordo, officially designating the hospital as a partner institution for the Medicine program.

The meeting concluded with NEMSU pledging to promptly fulfill the remaining requirements, while CHED Caraga reaffirmed its unwavering support in facilitating the issuance of the permit to operate the Doctor of Medicine program.
