IN PHOTOS: CHED Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III returns to Caraga Region to attend the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) Agusan Del Norte at the Caraga State University Main Campus, Butuan City, which is being conducted from March 22 to 23, 2024.
Chairman Prof Popoy De Vera was welcomed upon arrival by OIC-Regional Director Ms. Alma Sy-Patron and the Caraga Higher Education Institutions’ Association of Presidents and Heads (CHEIAPH).
The chairman led the early morning ribbon-cutting and formal opening of the CHED Higher Education booth, and distributed pandesal to students lining up to avail of the services offered at the booth as part of the “Pandesal ni Chair Popoy.”
Caraga State University conducted the unveiling of the School of Medicine Academic Building Project Design. Chairman De Vera was among the key officials who formally unveiled the project.
At the opening ceremony of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, CHED was among the regional line agencies who conducted ceremonial turnovers to recipients of the agencies’ grants and programs. Chairman De Vera awarded ceremonial cheques to selected grantees of the Tertiary Education Subsidy, Tulong Dunong Program, and CHED Merit Scholarship Program.
Later in the day, a special Meet and Greet activity between the chairman and TES grantees, FUNKwentuhan with Chair Popoy De Vera, was conducted at the HERO Auditorium of Caraga State University. Hosted by singer and comedian-host Kemmy Dora, TES grantees from Caraga State University, Saint Michael College of Caraga, Father Saturnino Urios University, and Saint Joseph Institute of Technology enjoyed connecting with Chairman De Vera as he responded to their questions and provided advice. Joining the chairman onstage during the activity were Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, President of Caraga State University, and Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, College President of the Agusan Del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology.
