The Commission on Higher Education – Caraga Regional Office (CHED Caraga) conducted a Year-End Regional Conference with Caraga Higher Education Institutions’ (HEIs) Presidents and Heads on December 14, 2023 at the VCDU Grand Convention Hall, Butuan City.

During the conference, Dr. Rolyna S. Trugillo, LPT, presented pertinent issuances and timelines for the HEIs to take note of and take action on.

OIC Regional Director Ms. Alma Sy-Patron, JD, MSW, RSW, presented the milestones of CHED Caraga for the Calendar Year 2023, as well as the strategic directions the Office will take in the coming year. 

A series of presentations were then given by HEIs highlighting their achievements, current challenges, and opportunities for the year. These presentations and the steady flow of feedback were collected and will be reviewed to address challenges and concerns, identify areas for improvement, and strategically plan for the upcoming year. This collaborative effort ensures a holistic approach to continuous improvement in higher education within the region.

The conference was also an opportunity for the members and key officials of the Caraga Higher Education Institutions Presidents and Heads (CHEIAPH) to conduct an Association Meeting.

As it was also the yuletide season, a show of lively camaraderie and holiday cheer was done through the conduct of Christmas gift exchange among the HEI key officials and the CHED Caraga personnel. 

CHED Caraga celebrates what has been a prosperous and productive 2023. The Office thanks and recognizes the countless efforts and contributions of the Caraga Higher Education Community to the success experienced this year, and calls for continued and renewed vigor in carrying out its mandate of providing access to quality higher education in the coming year.
