CHED Caraga Regional Office, together with other national government agencies celebrate this year’s National Women’s Month with a line-up of activities as part of the Gender and Development (GAD) Plan, from March 1-31, 2021, with the theme: Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!
This annual celebration aims to empower Filipino women in all forms and shapes. With this year’s theme, CHED’s Gender and Development (GAD) launches a hashtag crusade with #ChoosetoChallengeCampaign and challenging government agencies to showcase their version of the One Billion Rising Dance among other planned activities.
In view of the National Women’s Month Celebration, CHED Caraga shows support by participating in the Purple Mondays wherein employees get to wear anything purple in all Mondays of March. The highlightS of this month-long celebration are the activities organized in the Regional Office which includes TikTok Challenge, Virtual Quiz Competition, Essay Writing Contest, Face Shield Decoration, and Physical Fitness and Vital Signs Monitoring where the employees get to enjoy and play in the sports competition that includes badminton, table tennis, darts, virtual chess and scrabble. Every woman has a story to tell, a path to take, and a future that is yet unknown. The Commission has come a long way and will have a long way to go in mainstreaming gender and development by celebrating National Women’s Month annually. This reminds us of a chance to celebrate together and empower women across the country.
