The Commission on Higher Education – Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (CHED-UniFAST) Caraga personnel conducted an orientation on the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) for Beneficiaries at Southway College of Technology (SOCOTECH) On January 22, 2024. This was done as part of its mandate to orient students of their obligations, duties, and responsibilities as beneficiaries of these programs under the Republic Act No. 10931 or the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act” (UAQTEA).
A rationale of the activity by UniFAST Caraga Supervisor-in-Charge and Education Supervisor II Mr. Ever Joy G. Rabadan, MAEM, MSc. UniFAST Caraga Regional Coordinator (RC) Ms. Daisy I. Grana, MPA gave an orientation on UniFAST and its programs, and Lead RC Ms. Heidi M. Paradero presented and discussed the guidelines for TES.
TES Beneficiaries were able to have a dialogue with the UniFAST Caraga team through an open forum session.
UniFAST Caraga Accountant Ms. Maelove I. Dagohoy, CPA and regional coordinators conducted the monitoring and evaluation activity for the implementation of programs under UAQTEA, and RC Mr. Bill Carlo Baconguis conducted photo and video documentation of these activities.
Additionally, the regional coordinators conducted video TEStimonial interviews with selected TES beneficiaries on how TES has impacted their lives, as well as facilitated the collection of TEStimonial survey responses from TES beneficiaries. Beneficiaries were also able to collect their TES releases and sign the payroll.
